FAQs

Question:

GPX Files - Can't Open the File on My Computer

Answer:

GPX files are a special file type that can only be read by software designed to read it. You must have GPS software installed on your computer, tablet or smartphone that reads these files in order to open them.

Most GPS units come with desktop software for managing waypoints or they sell it separately. There are also low cost or free versions available online.

If you purchased your GPX file as a download, you need to import the file into your GPS software then export the GPX waypoints to a memory card then import the file into your GPS unit. Some units require you to format the card in your unit before copying files to it, so check your user manual if you are not sure.
