About the Author

Jim "Chiefy" Mathie was a firefighter/parametic for the Deerfield Beach Fire Rescue from 1977 until he retired as a fire chief in 2007. Jim is a well educated individual with many degrees with the highest being a Masters in Adult Education. In retirement Jim discovered a new passion, writing. Jim's first book Catching the Bug was written from the view point of an educator, to help people learn how to lobster. Jim's second book Catching the Spear-it! follows the same principals of education divers to spearfish.
